Over the course of 2025, Crossenvale Community House saw a dramatic rise in the number of families accessing food relief - 16 families rose to 30 within that time.
Most new families requiring support noted that cost of living pressures as their key reason for seeking support.
We also recognised a rise in people reporting that they had become homeless or unable to find appropriate housing in the area, leading to .

We worked out that, based on our FY25 expenditure on food relief related items (food, packaging, delivery etc), it costs our house $759.50 per family, per year to sustain our program for thirty families. While we have some funding available to cover this, the rate of growth is unsustainable without diverting money from our educational and community connection programs - our core business.

We ask that Businesses and Community Organisations show their support and Fill-a-Bag for twelve month. Your donation of $759.50 means a family in Crossenvale (and Echuca-Moama) has access to bread, milk, fresh produce, pantry staples, frozen meals and more every single week for twelve months.
We'll recognise your contribution by:
- promoting your business / organisation
on our website and socials,
- adding your logo / name to our Fill-a-Bag Wall at the house,
- providing you with a certificate of appreciation and window sticker.
If you, your business or community group have the funds available and would like to contribute to Fill-a-Bag, please contact House Manager Rob Foran on 0459 049 474 or at crossenvale@gmail.com.
